Travel to Yorkshire and our hotel in the lovely spa town of Harrogate with tea or coffee on arrival.
DTuesday to Thursday
This morning is free to explore the delights of Harrogate. Always a favourite…. Why not visit to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms. With its ornate fascia and delicious cakes, Betty's is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. Afterwards, visit the RHS garden at Harlow Carr, specially designed to reflect the Yorkshire landscape, dominated by stone, water and woodland.
Today we travel to the market town of Thirsk and step inside… The World of James Herriot…where we see where this famous vet, lived, worked and wrote his incredibly successful series of books including 'All Creatures Great and Small' based on his experiences as a young North Yorkshire vet. Take time to meander along the streets and cobbled market square before heading towards Ripon with its magnificent cathedral and a scenic drive through Nidderdale, An Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, with its stunning moorland scenery and tapestry of lush green meadows to Grassington before returning to Harrogate.
Our destination today is magnificent Harewood House set in 100 acres of gardens with plants from all over the world in a landscape created by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Take time to explore upstairs and downstairs; learn about the Lascelles family and life below stairs before venturing out into the splendid grounds including the Terrace, the Lakeside Garden and the Walled Garden. Discover the Bird Garden, home to over 40 species of birds from around the world. There are a range of food and drink options catering for all tastes for refreshments to choose from during your visit. (not included)

Homeward bound with a stop in the ever popular Webbs of Wychbold - Garden, lifestlye and gifts centre.

The Crown Hotel is 3 star, with over 300 years of history.
Located in the antique quarter of Harrogate, the pump room museum, Valley Gardens, Betty's tea rooms and the Turkish baths are all just a minutes' walk from the hotel.
The hotel has 115 bedrooms, varying in size and shape, including a limited number of true single rooms and rooms with step in shower (request). Buffet breakfast and three course choice dinner with tea and coffee is served in The Churchill Suite, a beautiful oak panelled room with high ceilings, ornate columns and high frosted/stained glass windows. The Place bar is open from 9am on weekdays and from 10am on weekends and offers a wide range of hot & cold beverages.
MOBILITY: There is a lift to all floors, but it is necessary to negotiate steps to some rooms due to the historic nature of the building.
There are 2 accessible rooms which have a wet room style bathrooms and hand rails, plus 7 other rooms with walk in showers, but the majority of them do have steps from the lift to the room.
