Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru
Mae’r Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn ddathliad o ddiwylliant a’r iaith yma yng Nghymru ac fe’i chynhelir yn ystod wythnos gyntaf Awst bob blwyddyn. Held during the first week of August every year, the National Eisteddfod is a celebration of the culture and language in Wales.

Credir bod traddodiad y cadeiriau barddol Cymreig a ‘Chadeirio Beirdd’ yn dyddio’n ôl mor bell â 1176. Dyma’r seremoni fwyaf arwyddocaol i’w chynnal yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol a’r gystadleuaeth amlycaf yn niwylliant barddoniaeth Gymraeg.
A poet receives the Chair for writing poems or an ode in strict metre (cynghanedd).
The tradition of Welsh bardic chairs and the 'Chairing of Bards' is believed to date back as far as 1176. It is the most significant ceremony to take place at the National Eisteddfod and the most notable competition in Welsh-language poetry culture.
